I like the dull, bleak lighting you've got there; don't often see space scenes that aren't brightly lit.

Thanks! No, you are right, I find that completely confusing due to the generally not so well lit nature of space.

Well, it makes sense sometimes - it's well-lit near planets, stuff like that - but people don't seem to work with middle-of-nowhere, deep, deep space nearly as often. It costs them some nifty looks like this painting.

(Also, not enough people actually *paint* stuff like this either, but that goes without saying. ;) )

Again, thank you! :D And yes, I agree, way too few people actually paint, as in painting with real paints. It gives a nicely imperfect and human touch, I find.
